Founded when Ben Franklin formed The Associators in Philadelphia in 1747, the Pennsylvania National Guard (PNG) is comprised of both the Pennsylvania Air National Guard (PAANG) and Pennsylvania Army National Guard (PAARNG).

The Pennsylvania National Guard has both a state and a federal mission. Our state mission is to protect life and property, maintain peace and order and provide civil defense here at home. Our federal mission is to train for combat and support national missions throughout the world. We also support numerous partnerships, including domestic partnership with various local, state and federal agencies, and our partnership with the country of Lithuania through the National Guard's State Partnership Program.

Together, we serve our community, commonwealth and country.
