Maj. Michael Tier assumed command of 1st Battalion, 111th Infantry Regiment, 56th Stryker Brigade Combat Team from outgoing commander Lt. Col. David Fittipoldi during a change-of-command ceremony Dec. 7 at Independence Hall in Philadelphia.
