Integrated Primary Prevention
The mission of the Office of Integrated Primary Prevention (OIPP) is to enhance individual and collective readiness and to strengthen organizational resilience by fostering and supporting professional culture and healthy command climates across the Pennsylvania National Guard.
The OIPP works to reduce the prevalence of self-directed harm, sexual violence, family violence, and workplace violence, through a comprehensive public health approach that eliminates harmful behaviors, fosters growth and strengthens teams throughout our Service Member, Veteran and Family Community.
To Achieve this, the OIPP conducts and supports analysis, advocacy and implementation of evidence-based polices, programs and practices that reduce the risk factors associated with harmful behavior and increase the prevalence and effectiveness of the protective factors that support a Ready, Resilient and Deployable Force.
Primary Prevention efforts are an integral component of the prevention spectrum, but this effort requires work from many stakeholders committed to serving our SMVF community throughout the Commonwealth.
