Pennsylvania National Guard transportation units are assisting the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services beginning April 7 to deliver meals to various distribution centers across the state.
These meals, supplied by the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA) will resupply county emergency management agencies, senior citizen centers, food banks and other charitable organizations.
As of April 17, Task Force Support personnel have traveled 18,796 miles to 34 locations across Pennsylvania, hauling 395 pallets and delivering 275,632 meals to those in need.
