FORT INDIANTOWN GAP, Pa. –
Maj. Gen. Anthony Carrelli, adjutant general, Pa. National Guard, spoke with Lithunania’s Chief of Defence, Lt. Gen. Valdemaras Rupšys, on a video conference to mark the 27th anniversary of the State Partnership Program between Pennsylvania and Lithuania on April 27th.
“In 27 years we’ve grown, not only the relationship between our two organizations but also relationships between individuals who have had the opportunity to train together several times through their career and have risen to ranks of senior leaders with the Pa. National Guard and Lithuanian Armed Forces,” said Carrelli.
During the call the two spoke of the importance of the SPP as well as how each organization was involved in the fight against COVID-19.
“We are still thinking about our family in Lithuanian,” added Carrelli. “Although half a world apart, we are both currently fighting the same enemy.”
Several other senior leaders from Pa. and Lithuania were also present for the call.
