State Tuition Assistance

The Pennsylvania National Guard is committed to supporting the educational goals of its Service Members and their families through state-funded education programs like the Education Assistance Program (EAP) and the Military Family Education Program (MFEP). These benefits provide tuition assistance to eligible servicemembers and their dependents, and are awarded regardless of financial need for degree or certificate programs at approved institutions in Pennsylvania.

Eligible members can receive up to 100% of the funded tuition rate for full-time students. The amount of each award is based on enrollment status and the tuition charge, capped at the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education Schools (PASSHE) flat full-time tuition rate plus the technology fee. This rate varies per academic year and can be found at the PASSHE website. Some programs may pay for 120 credit hours per 6-year commitment.
