Pa.-Lithuania partnership named 1 of 2 SPP Partnerships of the Year

Military leaders from National Guard Bureau, Pennsylvania National Guard and Lithuania pose for a photo during an award ceremony April 19, 2023, in Denver, Colorado, that named them 2022 State Partnership of the Year. The annual conference, held April 17-21, 2023, brought together all 54 SPP directors, coordinators, and senior enlisted leaders to develop innovative solutions to pressing challenges, assisting our Partner Nations. Pa. Army National Guard Soldiers compete in Best Warrior Competition

Seventeen Pennsylvania Army National Guard Soldiers from around the state competed in three categories at the 2023 state Best Warrior Competition April 15-19 at Fort Indiantown Gap. The Soldiers competed in nine events designed to test their physical and mental endurance: night land navigation, a medical event, a written exam, a mystery event, weapons zero and qualification, the obstacle course, the Army Combat Fitness Test, a 12-mile ruck march, and finally, a leadership/appearance board. Free camps offer community, fun to Pa. Guard children

The Pennsylvania Army National Guard’s Child & Youth team coordinates a handful of overnight camps for children of Pennsylvania National Guard Soldiers throughout the year but more popularly in the summer. According to Thomas Bradbury, a Soldier & Family Readiness Manager, the camps help these children by connecting them with other children of PNG Soldiers and allows them to participate in a variety of fun camp activities at no cost to their parents.
