28th ECAB lifts spouses

U.S. Soldiers with the 28th Expeditionary Combat Aviation Brigade host a Spouse Lift event for spouses of the brigade’s Soldiers. Spouses were given tours of the brigade’s flight facilities and flights in CH-47 Chinook and UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters as a token of appreciation for their support. The event was held at the brigade’s flight facilities at Muir Army Airfield at Fort Indiantown Gap and John Murtha Johnstown-Cambria County Airport at Johnstown. Participants at Fort Indiantown Gap were given flights around the greater Harrisburg, Hershey and Blue Mountain area. Participants at Johnstown were given flights around the scenic Laurel Highlands of the Alleghenies.

1067th Composite Truck Co. returns from Middle East deployment

1067th Transportation Company, 228th Transportation Battalion, 213th Regional Support Group, Pennsylvania Army National Guard conducting loading operations with the Montana Army National Guard, Combined Arms Battalion, 1-163rd Cavalry Regiment. Training loading and unloading of the M1A1 Abrams Tank and the M2A3 Bradly Fighting Vehicle for a simulated Homeland Response Force (HRF) movement. The preparation is in support of Operation Spartan Shield at Camp Buehring Kuwait.

Pa. National Guard Airmen receive Catto Medal

The Maj. Octavius V. Catto statue in Philadelphia is adorned with wreaths Oct. 1, 2022. Catto was a Civil War-era Pennsylvania militia officer who was killed in Philadelphia in 1871 while on duty defending African-Americans at polling places from those who opposed their right to vote. An annual award in his name is given to Pennsylvania National Guard members who distinguish themselves as leaders through community support and public service.
