Free camps offer community, fun to Pa. Guard children

The Pennsylvania Army National Guard’s Child & Youth team coordinates a handful of overnight camps for children of Pennsylvania National Guard Soldiers throughout the year but more popularly in the summer. According to Thomas Bradbury, a Soldier & Family Readiness Manager, the camps help these children by connecting them with other children of PNG Soldiers and allows them to participate in a variety of fun camp activities at no cost to their parents. From Togo to Philadelphia, Soldier pursues unique opportunity

U.S. Army Spc. Kossi Egui with Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 213th Regional Support Group, Pennsylvania National Guard, came to the United States from the Togolese Republic in West Africa in 2017 through a program called the U.S. Diversity Visa Lottery and joined the United States Army as a motor transport operator in 2019. He became a naturalized U.S. citizen in 2020 and used his skills acquired in the National Guard to get his commercial driver’s license and become a civilian truck driver.
